| Through
stable and strong relationships with
various carriers, FILCO is proud to
offer a wide variety of Dental care
options for your clients. Below you
will find brief descriptions of the
general types of dental insurance
that can be offered to fulfill your
client’s needs. Be sure to click
on the links immediately following
the descriptions to find
out about the exciting plans being
offered by various carriers.
Stand
Alone Dental Insurance:
Stand
Alone Dental Insurance is sold as
a separate INSURANCE policy that does
NOT need to be sold in conjunction
with medical insurance. This type
of policy allows your client the opportunity
to choose a dental program, which
best fits them, instead of being “boxed
into” using their medical carrier’s
dental program. Horizon Dental, Principal
and Fortis are the leaders in offering
programs with generous benefits at
competitive rates. Please

Discount Dental Plan:
A discount dental plan is
NOT considered a form of dental insurance
but still can be a viable option to
offer your clients. In this type of
plan, the members pay a “membership
fee” and are entitled to discounted
fees for service at an in-network
dentist. Dental Benefits Plus offers
a wide variety of discounts with an
extensive network of dentists.

Dental Plan as a Rider:
A dental plan that must be
sold in conjunction with medical insurance
is considered a rider. In addition,
both the dental plan and the medical
insurance must be with the same carrier.
The Dental Plan/Care rider can either
be a dental insurance policy or a
discounted dental plan. Some of the
carriers that offer dental riders
are Aetna, Oxford Health plans and
United Healthcare.
