FILCO Industry News

Executive Note

FILCO Brokers,
The debate on healthcare is a hot topic nationally and locally. At the Federal level "Medicare for All bill" (H.R. 1384) has been proposed by Rep. Pramila Jayapal. A Single Payer Bill has been proposed in NY the past few years, but has been blocked by a Republican-controlled State Senate. This year the Democrats control NY State Senate. In NJ there is new proposed bill (S3270) which would prohibit stop loss in small groups (1-50) being considered.
We are watching these national and local topics closely and will continue to update our brokers through all of our social media outlets as news breaks. Stay connected.

In The News!

New Jersey bill A3975 (S2528) was signed by Governor Murphy, affecting Temporary Disability (TDB) and Family Leave Insurance (FLI). The portion of the bill that has an immediate impact for our brokers and their client is that employee signature is no longer required to move a TDB program from the state program. The waived employee signature will take effect immediately and will apply to all cases moving from the state effective April 1, 2019.
This is a great opportunity for our Brokers to earn extra revenue!
This is an easy sale! Employers MUST have TDB but they are not required to enroll through the state…we can provide competitive options for your clients with the following carriers through an easy quoting process.
The following carriers are available to our brokers to quote TDB:
Guardian
Hartford
Lincoln Financial
Metropolitan Life
Mutual of Omaha
Shelterpoint
Unum
Standard
The Standard Life program that was created and currently underwritten by MSM offers the following:
