Washington Update from NAHU

 

Fast Facts

· The CBO released a report finding that repealing the ACA's individual mandate would reduce the federal budget deficit by $338 billion over a decade but lead to 13 million more uninsured and increase premiums by 10%.

· CMS issued new guidance on Section 1115 Medicaid waivers to help expedite the application process, develop a "fast-track" approval and simplify extensions for non-complex waivers.

· Voters in Maine approved a ballot measure to expand Medicaid. Statewide elections were also held in New Jersey, Virginia and Ohio, which voted against a proposed ballot measure to regulate prescription drug prices.

· Early-bird registration is now available for NAHU's 28th Annual Capitol Conference February 26-28, 2018. Prices increase by $100 on November 17.

· Applications are being accepted now through December 4 for NAHU's legislative awards that will be presented at Capitol Conference.
